Does this happen to you? How do you deal with it?
Personally, I'm not very keen on actually telling the person that I'm annoyed at them. It happened yesterday at a visit to the hospital. We decided to get drinks and made our way over to the till. There was woman coming towards the till and one standing opposite it checking through the pick and mix sweets. As the one coming towards us was on the side of the door in a very cramped shop, I stepped back to let her go first. KT dropped a chocolate bar he'd picked up and as I bent to get it, the woman who was looking at the sweets turned to see the three of us in the queue and pushed her way between me and the woman I'd let go first, rocking me slightly so I almost fell over. I was so shocked, I didn't say anything but stood up and stared at the back of her neck. To KT I said, "Can you believe this? Were we not standing in the queue or what? What is it with people pushing in?!", in a loud enough voice for the people waiting outside to notice. Her cheeks flushed, but she didn't move. KT came back with an equally loud reply about how rude people were these days and didn't they know that if they were in a hurry all they had to do was say so and then we got to see her pay for the card she was holding in small change. I'm certain she did it to make us wait longer, but I felt so much better when I said loudly, "one of these days I am going to kick someone who pushes in at the back of their knees" and the shop girl said, "You should do, I do!". The woman was much faster at counting the coppers out then!

I'm more direct. I am not rude about it or anything-I just say; "I'm sorry, you obviously didn't see that I was already in the queue before you. Please take your place so that I can mine."
It normally embarrasses people into moving.

One thing that I have a huge problem with is when people stand so close to you in line that you can feel their breath on your neck. It really irritates me to no end!

Oh I hate that too. It's almost as if they are trying to freak you out enough to leave the queue sometimes

It normally embarrasses people into moving. That normally works for me too. I don't even make them half-think that in was asking them to move, I am just direct and frank about it.

I'm a Que jumper and most of the time I get away with It because I'm always polite and I look kind of Innocent and a bit cheeky too, I offer to go back to the end of the Que and quite often they tell me to stay, what can I say. I know people are too polite to complain these day's so I take advantage of that fact.

This happened to my wife the other day. I saw her in line and the people in front of her left and some little old lady walked right in front of my wife and put her stuff on the counter. She was feeling the holiday cheer because she kept it in. I'm a little more vocal when someone is rude to me. I let them know to get their ass to the back of the line. Merry Christmas! John
